Exam Format

Here is an opportunity to have your say about what you think about making the exam computer based/driven.

This is my bit:

Programming

First we must convince everybody that the only truly educationally valid programming paradigm is xyz Pascal (or whatever you like to nominate and justify). Then we get the CC to contract the team at Borland to write the compiler in Java and make it available to all schools throught a Web2.0 driven interface in much the same way as the current Rockerfer BASIC is delivered. That way, everybody is on an equal footing.

Diagraming

That is easy. Everybody uses a CC delivered form of Gliffy and all diagrams are done with that.

Database

First of all, we must agree that SQL is the way to go and MySQL would most likely take the guernsey. The CC just needs a linux server and Web 2.0 interface to allow the students to interact with it both for learning and for exams.

Everything Else

For the rest of the course, I assume we would be all very happy to have  a computer marked multi-choice bank of questions that can be made available to the candidates in the same manner as Cisco, HP, Microsoft etc do for all of their accreditation exams. (will we make 80% the pass mark as well?)
